Weekly Grocery Savings

I did not post last week since we were out of town so need to catch up. I did really well this week and only went to one store - my favorite - Publix. Here is the breakdown on my purchases:

Large eggs (.99), Ore Ida Crispers (3.39), Morning Star Grilled Burgers (2 boxes .90 ea with coupons), Green Giant 24 oz packs niblets (2 packs 1.75 ea), Cottonelle toilet paper (2.99 with coupon), smoked turkey lunchmeat (2.00), milk (2.89), V-8 Splash Drinks (2 for 1.55 ea), Cheez-Its (2 for 1.60 ea), 100 calorie pack chocolate pretzels (2 for 1.50 ea with coupons), Mccormick pepper (1.80), Hunt's Garlic Herb spaghettis sauce (1.00), Can't Believe It's Not Butter Baking (2 for .45 ea with coupons), Aquafina 24 pk bottled water (3.99), Rotessiere Chicken (4.99), Mac n Cheese (2 for .58 ea), Kraft Velvetta (2 for 1.80 ea), Kashi Cereal (2 boxes 2.50 ea), Mott's applesauce (2 packs 1.17 ea with coupons), Quaker rice cakes (2.00), Family Size box Pop Tarts (2.50), Bananas (2.50 lb for 1.77), Plums (1.60 lb for 1.46), and Italian Pizza Dough (2.59)

Savings on Kid's Clothing

Ok, I just had to post an update tonight. I just love GAP and their jeans are the only ones my daughter can fit into just right. They are having a great sale on jeans right now. Buy one at regular price and get the second for just $10. They also have a jeans card that you get stamped every time you purchase a pair of jeans. Buy 4 pairs and get the 5th free. I already used the Friends and Family 30% coupon from last week to get 2 pairs for $20 each. So I went back today and purchased two pairs and got a third for free. I spent with tax $48 on all 3 which are regularly priced $34.50. Thought this was so worth passing along!

Finally, I have started browsing the internet for good deals on items for Christmas. Yes, the kids are already making out their wish lists! Anyway, my daughter is going to start the third grade next week and really, really wants a North Face jacket. As you already know, North Face is a good brand but expensive. I was so proud after researching some tonight that I found the jacket she wants in the color she wants and purchased it 50% off the original price at www.moosejaw.com. They are having a great sale right now with most items being 40% off. I found a coupon code online for an additional 10% savings.

So it pays to take the time to do a little research before making your purchases. If you have any tips on where to get great bargains, please feel free to post it. We can all learn from each other.

Grocery Savings

I am a little late on posting this since we were out of town for a family matter but I still think I did pretty well. I had another great week at Publix and am working towards a goal of $50 a week. I am not sure I will make it but plan to do my best. Below looks good but I also had to spend more money at Walmart on school supplies so it evened out. Here are my savings:

Walmart:

Publix:

6 packs Betty Crocker fruit snacks (.84 ea), 2 boxes Stouffer french bread pizzas (1.60 ea), 2 jars Mt Olive pickles (1.10 ea), 4 6 packs jello snacks (1.17 ea), 4 boxes family size deluxe Kraft mac and cheese (.50 ea), 2 lb chicken tenders (6.99), Kraft BBQ sauce (.40), 4 packs Dole fruit bowls (.82 ea), 2 boxes 100 cal snack packs (1.69 ea), Degree (2.00), fiber one bars (2.59), 2 boxes pop tarts (.65 ea), 2 6 packs yoplait yogurt (.99 ea), vidalia onion (.82), green bell pepper (.78), bag of salad (2.00)

Total OPP: 38.92

Total Savings: 60.53
